“Switch” Performance with NSDOS

On the 25th of October 2018 Dmitry Paranyushkin and Koo Des presented the live performance “Switch” at La Manutention residence at Palais de Tokyo curated by Vittoria Matarrese.

In this performance, based on our long-term ∞OS practice, we link the movement, language and code to explore the formation of meaning and the aesthetics of sense-making. Starting from a simple vocabulary based on singular concepts, we build up complexity both in the movement and in the language used.

Every word and every relation is visualized on the screen using the InfraNodus software instance developed especially for the performance. As the number of relations increase, patterns start to emerge, both on the physical and on the visual level. Every new formation produces a new sound, the sound affects the movement, which, in turn, affects the narrative. This way we create a network between the linguistic realm and the realm of movement, vision and sound, exemplifying one of the main tenets of ∞OS: cross-contextual confluence — how we can get inspiration in one context to apply it in another.
